My family came to town the week after the 4th of July. I loved having them here the whole time and I tried to spend every second with them. We had such a fun and busy week, so I am going to do separate posts for each of the things we did because I have a million pictures that we took on Vauri's new camera. They came up to Starvation on Saturday after the 4th of July but I don't have those pictures yet so I will start with Monday. My Uncle Stan has a Catamaran so decided it would be fun to take it up to Pineview to spend a day at the lake. Bailey was quite exhausted from a weekend of camping but once we got her out on the boat she calmed down. Boats do that for her, she just becomes very calm. It was hard to keep her from climbing all over my little niece Ava. She loved her sooo much. It was really cute.
Fun times on the catamaran here is my handsome Dad...

4th of July weekend
For the 4th of July weekend this year we decided a camping/boating trip would be fun. It was strange not doing fireworks and a bbq at our house like we do every other year, but it was such an amazing weekend. We went to Starvation lake because it was the only lake that was still taking reservations. Chris and I found the perfect site that could hold all of our trailers and it was right on the water so the kids could play all day in it. We had a huge group with us. There was us, Bob and Cindy, Adam and Erin, Steve and his friend, Dave and Tiff and a few of their friends and family. Nick, Tracy, Cade, Nell, my Dad, Mom, Uncle Stan and Aunt Sally and kids came up for a day too. The lake was so beautiful, but the major problem is the mosquitoes. It was seriously insane. We got out to look at another camp site the first day and we were being attacked by swarms of them, it felt like we were in a scarry movie and we ran back to our car as fast as we could. Really though I loved that weekend I have the best family and friends we always have such a good time together! I am so lucky to have you all in my life! I took a ton of pictures on a disposable camera but of course I haven't developed them yet so I just have a few pics that my Mother in law, Cindy emailed me!

Cindy's birthday and swimming at Adam's house!
We had a pretty lazy weekend which was nice after running around for a week. It was a little sad though because we were supposed to be in Lake Powell with Lisa and her friends but decided to cancel. :( The weekend started with getting together at Bob and Cindy's house on Friday night to celebrate Cindy's birthday. Cindy set up a small pool for Bailey and Brooklyn to play in and they loved it. It was nice to just hang out and talk, and she made the best lasagna and margaritas! Happy birthday Cindy! We love you! Here are some pictures from the night.
The girls kept getting out then right back in over and over...
Cousins playing
uh-oh Chris taught Bailey to do this...I hope she doesn't try this on Canyon!

The only way I could get Bailey to look at the camera was grabbing Brooklyn's Elmo doll and singing the song to Elmo's World! It was funny.
Happy Birthday to you!

Then Saturday I just hung out at home the whole day with Chris and Bailey. Sunday morning we decided to go to Market Street for brunch (MMMM! They have the best brunch ever!) We called Adam to see if he wanted to meet us, but he was in his pool and invited us to come by. Chris wanted to take Canyon and Sushi over since they never get out of the house. We had so much fun and Canyon was hilarious! He would just walk over to the stairs, get in the pool, swim a couple laps, and get out. He would do this over and over. I love it when he swims.
Here we are with our buds Ben and Aly. Canyon is taking some laps!
So cute!

Later that night Chris, Bailey and I went to Ben and Aly's house to check out their new condo. Ben and Chris love each other. Me and Aly say they have man crushes on each other (they really do) and Aly and I have always been really close so we get together pretty much all the time now. Their condo is brand new and gorgeous! We had some champagne to celebrate with them and then we all headed over to the drive in where we met up with Adam and Erin. We looooove the drive in! We have been going there for years. Bailey fell asleep in the car and we watched The love guru and The happening! What an awesome lazy weekend! This week is another crazy one! We have Ashley's birthday, Camping/boating for the 4th of July weekend and then my family is here for over a week! YAAAAAAAY!

Where we've been...
Beware..this is a loooong post!
We have been go go go since last Friday. Don't you just love summer? My poor dogs are feeling abandoned though. Luckily they are pretty self sufficient since we have a doggy door and the dog bowls that refill themselves. We went camping/boating from Friday-Sunday at Starvation lake. We went with Nick, Tracy, Brooklyn, Adam and Erin. That lake is absolutely beautiful. We had never been there before, but everyone always told us that it is like a mini lake powell and it totally is. It has the red rock and the crystal clear bright blue water. It was the perfect trip other than the mosquitoes that ate us alive.
We took our trailer with us, thank God. I can't imagine camping without it. We bought it last year, it's a 1970's 19 foot trailer. It is pretty hilarious, but hey, at least we don't have to tent camp with a 1 year old. With how much we love the outdoors it was a necessity. I love that it is older because I don't care as much if it gets a little dirty and Bailey's pack and play fits perfectly. Plus hello, it has a really nice stove/oven so I can cook yummy meals, and it has a working bathroom...toilet, shower, the works! Need I say more?
The camp site that Nick chose was so perfect for us. We were totally secluded. It had this perfect little beach where the water is really shallow so the girls could play in the water, and they LOVED playing in the water. I brought the blow up bounce house for them to play in and a ton of floaty toys. Really though, all they wanted to do was splash in the water and look for "bishies" (fishies) as Brooklyn calls them. They really were in heaven and they played so well together. Plus these two are little boating diva's. They love it! They behave so well on the boat, maybe it's because they have been going since they were babies. I'm not sure, but it is amazing!
As far as boating goes, the water was pretty choppy because of the wind so we didn't do a lot of wake boarding. The boys took a few runs but none of the girls dared to. Nick even wake boarded with a broken arm. Hilarious! I am not even kidding you, he did just as good as he usually does. Nick and Chris talked Me and Tracy into letting them take Bay and Brookie on the tube. I was so terrified but it ended up being really fun for them. We drove the boat super slow so it wasn't scary at all. Bailey had a huge smile on her face the entire time and Brooklyn took a nap. :) I really wish we had a camera to catch that moment. Tracy and I went on the tube next and it was the first time I actually liked it. I usually sit on it and my butt hurts like crazy the whole time, but Trac told me to go on my stomach and oh my gosh what a difference. I was laughing hysterically it was that fun. Oh and when I got on the tube Bailey started yelling "MAMA!!!" I just had to add that because she never yells for me it's always "DAD!!!". So that was a pretty cool moment for me!
Trac and I took advantage of the dvd player in our Pathfinder. When we had to cook or just relax without watching after the girls the whole time, we would load them up in their car seats and turn on Elmo's world or Finding Nemo (their faves) with the ac blasting. Ahhh what a nice break that was. We kept asking ourselves if we were bad moms for doing that. :)
It was the perfect weekend and we can't wait to do it again! I only got a couple picture with my phone.
Here is our camp site, this picture so does not do it justice. I think I was bugging everyone because I kept saying "This is so beautiful!" all weekend!
Hanging out with my baby...

We got back from boating Sunday night pretty late and then Monday morning we were headed to Snowbird. My Aunt Susan has a condo there for a week, so we went every day when we woke up in the morning and then went home for bed. It was so nice to be the "kid" all week! Susan had all of our meals taken care of, I didn't even have to load up milk for Bailey! {Thank you!} Little Cottonwood Canyon is by far my favorite canyon. It is so gorgeous it looks fake! We saw a lot of deer, chipmunks, and even a moose. Bailey loved it! We had the best view from our balcony. The weather was perfect all week. We went swimming a lot up there, they have a really cute kids pool. When Bailey took naps my aunt watched her and I went and worked out at the gym...thanks Susan! We also took Bailey to the playground where she actually enjoyed going down the slide. I think it's because they had little slides that were her perfect size, usually she just likes the swings. One day my aunt bought us all day passes to go on the rides they have up there, so we went on the tram ride to the top of the mountain and walked around, we went on the zip line several times and we on these trampolines where you can do flips without falling. We were pretty bummed that the alpine slide wasn't set up yet, but I could have just gone on the zip line all day anyway. Chris met us there after work every night and since June 25th is his half birthday, I decided it would be fun to make a half birthday cake. He gets totally jipped for his birthday since it's on Christmas. Poor guy. :( I made his favorite rainbow sprinkle cake that his mom always makes for him. He thought it was pretty cool. My sister is celebrating her birthday up there right now by having some of her friends stay for a couple days, so I decided not to go up because teenagers drive me nuts! Poor Susan... I left her alone with all of them! Sorry! Thanks so much for inviting us up there and spoiling us! What a fun week!
