A side note

I just wanted to add something to my post below... most of you who read my blog have not set up your own blogs...well I am also tagging all of you to fill out the survey below and start your own blog. It has been so fun blogging. Sometimes I think I am going to stop because my life is so busy, but then someone comments to me how much they love reading it. It also has been like a journal for me, which I have been wanting to start for a long time now. Shandra (an old friend I grew up with and fellow beach bum of mine) had a great idea to print off your blog posts and keep them in a folder and it can be like your journal. I love that idea and I am going to start doing that. So I encourage all of you to start a blog... you will become addicted! xoxo~Jen

Well Bailey is taking a nap right now so I thought I would finally do this survey thing my sista Vauri tagged me to do...

The rules of the Game:

  • Each player answers questions about themselves
  • At the end, the player then "tags" 2 people and posts their names at the end
  • You then go to their page leaving them a comment letting them know they've been tagged & refer to your post
10 years ago:
I was just barely 17 and a junior in high school. I was living in California with no plans to EVER live in Utah..haha! Ah those were the days... no responsibilities just lots of hanging out with friends and going to school. I was a major beach bum back then so I am sure I was going there every day.

5 things that are on my "to do" list for today:

1. Do my workout while Bailey is still napping...
2. Clean the upstairs bathroom, vacuum, mop, finish laundry
3. Play with Bailey
4. Make dinner
5. Have fun with Chris and Bailey

I Enjoy:
  • My family
  • Going out to dinner
  • Watching movies
  • I Love to travel although I really haven't gone too many places. This is one of my goals!
  • Playing with Bailey
  • Making her laugh
  • Reading- I made a goal for myself to read one book a month. And I want to join a book club
  • Shopping
  • Boating-ahhh I can't wait for this summer!
  • Camping
  • Hanging out with Chris...I love that I can totally be myself with him!
  • Fresh flowers
  • The beach~Can't wait to go back home and take Bailey there!!
  • Cooking and baking
  • Taking pictures
  • First snow days of the winter
  • I love that Chris' job is so flexible. I get to see him a lot!
  • People watching
  • My sisters!!!
  • My parents and Chris' family
  • My aunt Susan
  • My girlfriends!!!
  • I love my bedtime routine with Bailey...Bath, then I rock her and read her a few books then give her a bottle! She is so cuddly at bedtime!
  • Hiking
  • I love getting in the hot tub with Chris after Bailey is in bed.... so relaxing!
  • Game night
  • Right now I am LOVING that Lost is back on!!!
In no particular order. I could go on forever I'm sure....

What would I do if I suddenly became a hundred Millionaire?:
Pay off our house and buy another one. Put a huge chunk of it in a savings account for my baby girl. Pay off our parents houses. Pay for all of our friends to go on a huge long trip with us. Invest the rest.

5 Jobs I've had:
-In no order, this was hard, I really haven't worked too many places!
1. Discovercard
2. Remax Advantage... Zoom marketing(Chris' Dad's company)
3. E Commerce Processing in Aliso Viejo when Chris and I lived in Laguna.
4. I worked at Express a couple months my senior year of high school
That is all the jobs I can remember...

5 Things people don't know about me:
I have no idea so you probably already know this about me...

1. Me and Bailey stay in our pj's until her nap time at noon...
2. I am usually shy until I really get to know people then you can't shut me up.
3. I have always been a klutz... when I was 2 I ran into the corner of the wall twice in one year and had to get stitches, locked my thumb in the car door and had to get stitches, I broke my arm by jump roping on my bunk bed and fell off when I was in first grade, I broke my back snowboarding while I was here in Christmas break my senior year and I couldn't go back home for an extra few weeks because I couldn't sit up on the plane, somehow this summer I get 2nd degree burns on my shin because I was in my bathing suit cover-up by the camp fire at the lake... the wind shifted and the fire got too close to me... there is a lot more of these stories but I could seriously go on and on!
4. I always really wanted a girl... I would say I wanted a boy so I wouldn't jinx myself but when I found out it was a girl I was ecstatic! And I am torn between wanting a boy next or a sister for Bailey. I loved having sisters because we were all so close. Chris only wants two kids. I am sure I would be happy with either!
5. I want another baby but I don't ever want to be pregnant or give birth again! Maybe after more time I will forget how miserable I was through it all.

And now I Tag...... Christina and Tracy~ and yes Trac that means you need to start a blog!

Bailey is 11 months old today!

Wow! My little love is growing so fast I can't believe it! Looks like I need to start planning her first birthday party. AH! I am kind of freaking out. I feel like it's going way to fast. There is a part of me that wants her to stay my little baby that lets me cuddle with her all the time! But there is also the part of me that can't wait to have her running all over the place, laughing and having the time of her life. We can't wait to show her the world. She is such a blast to be with and I am so thankful to my wonderful hubby for working so hard because I get to spend just about every second of the day with her. I LOVE being a stay at home mom. It is hard sometimes like when she is teething or it is too cold outside so we are inside every single day, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Just some updates on Bailey... she is the BEST sleeper in the world. She sleeps from about 9:30 at night to around 9:00 in the A.M. and takes a 1-2 hour nap during the day! I am sooo lucky. She is standing all by herself and has even taken a few steps towards me! She loves to help me vacuum. She likes playing hide and go seek, and the tickle game with me. She likes to pretend to feed me her food and her bottle and laughs hysterically when I act like I am really eating it. She is such a happy girl and has brought so much happiness to Chris and I!

Here she is in her crib. I love her crib and bedding so much. We are actually transitioning to have her sleep in her own room now. I didn't think it would be this hard for me!

HA! This picture makes me laugh so hard. Before bed a couple nights ago I let her try a little bit of a Chocolate chip cookie I made when my friend Danielle was over. Big mistake... who know she could make such a mess out of it!!
Loving the mornings!
Bailey just woke up from her nap and Chris just got home from work. She gets so excited to see him when he gets home. I am in love with this picture!
Sorry this picture is so horrible but I just had to catch her hair sticking straight up! Her hair is really growing now.

Gentry

A year ago today Chris' brother Gentry passed away. We all miss him so much. We love you G! Here is his obituary and a few pictures...

Gentry Jon Bauer

Gentry Jon Bauer "G" "True to the Ones I Love" We have lost a radiant light in our lives. Gentry Jon Bauer left behind an adoring group of family and friends on February 5, 2007. Gentry was born in Salt Lake City on Oct. 1, 1977 to Linda Mattsson Blake and Jon Bauer. He spent his childhood years playing basketball and soccer, spending time at his family's cabin in Torrey, Utah, and delighting his family with his exploits and practical jokes, mainly at the expense of his older brother Cade. He attended Skyline High School where he formed the band Hospital Food with his friends Chris, Luke and Steve. The band ultimately recorded two CD's and was signed with New School Records, which produced the CD "Medicate." Some of Gentry's favorite experiences were the band's tours through the western United States. Gentry was a gifted drummer and the great passion in his life was music, both listening and performing. Gentry had a very special relationship with his grandparents (The Two Big Gs). His experiences with them were among the most significant of his lifetime. Gentry loved to travel and loved experiencing the vibrance and energy of big cities. He spent many happy summer vacations at Lake Powell and Torrey. At the time of his death Gentry was the manager of The Pie in Midvale, Utah. Gentry's heart and soul will forever reside within the loving relationships he built during his life. We will miss him forever. Gentry leaves behind his parents Jon Bauer and Linda and Ed Blake; brothers Kincade (Janelle) Bauer, Chris (Jenny) Blake, and Adam Blake; grandparents Duane and Twila Mattsson, Thelma Bauer and Bob and Velma Blake; special aunts Kelly (Rick) Valleley and Katrina Raphaell and uncle Lane Mattsson; cousins Sim, Shanda, Payton and Dahlia; and the love of his life, Heather Bosen. Kiss, kiss, kiss, love, love, love, hug, hug, hug - I love you the most INFINITY. Mom Little did I know how deep you would run and the complexity and tenderness of your soul when I first looked into your eyes the day you were born. I wish I could have held your hand more often and been with you at the end of your journey, but be assured, Gentry, you will be with me and I with you forever and always. Save me a place - it will be the best seat in the house (the one by the drummer). I love you, Dad. G I have lost my brother and my best friend. I am so proud of all that you accomplished in your life and so thankful for all the laughs, smiles, jokes, and music I could share with you. A trip to NYC or Powell, our family dinners, and every holiday will never be the same. I cannot fathom a life without you and I will miss you so dearly. I love you G. Cade Goodnight my love, my snuggle bug, I'll find you in my dreams. I love you pumpkin. Heath G, I will miss our talks about great music and your ability to make me laugh. You are loved by many. Ed G, my love for you is timeless and true and I will miss you every minute of every day for as long as I live. Kelly Goodbye, my Gentry. We love you. Grandma and Grandpa Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12:00 p.m., February 10, 2007 at Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Avenue, Salt Lake City. The family will greet friends on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Published in the Salt Lake Tribune from 2/8/2007 - 2/9/2007.

Some cute pictures!

Here are some pictures of Auntie Heather and Bailey with their Bling! Heather was in L.A.
for Christmas so we all got together for dinner a few weeks ago and she opened her presents. She got this cute mirror that had tons of crystals on it, just like Bailey's binky. So of course we had to have a photo shoot with these two! SOOOO cute! We love you Heather!
